Aamir Khan, famously known as Mr. Perfectionist, grabbed attention recently with his appearance on Kapil Sharma’s ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’.
Renowned for his roles in movies like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, Aamir Khan is reportedly teaming up with filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, marking their collaboration after nine years since ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. This upcoming film will feature Aamir in the role of a middle-aged protagonist.
According to reports, Aamir Khan, who previously voiced the Mehra family’s pet dog Pluto in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ (2015), is set to reunite with Zoya Akhtar for a new project. They recently discussed a film concept that intrigued Aamir, featuring a slice-of-life narrative with a middle-aged lead character. Aamir, known for his thorough approach, has asked Zoya to develop the screenplay fully before he commits, suggesting they reconvene for a narration. If all goes well, the film will be co-produced by Aamir’s production house and Zoya and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Productions. Currently, Aamir is occupied with RS Prasanna’s ‘Sitare Zameen Par’, scheduled for a Christmas 2024 release.
Aamir Khan is currently engrossed in his work on ‘Sitare Zameen Par’. As per recent updates, the film will address Down Syndrome and the challenges faced by individuals affected by it.
A source close to the project disclosed to Hindustan Times that Aamir Khan aims to shed light on another stigmatized condition in society, similar to his approach in ‘TZP’. He has found a heartfelt story that delves into Down Syndrome, intending to handle the subject with sensitivity and advocate for treating individuals with the syndrome equally.
Details about the film remain undisclosed, including whether Aamir Khan will direct or solely produce it. However, reports suggest Genelia Deshmukh will star in the movie, slated for release this Christmas.
