The Maharashtra cyber cell has called upon actor Tamannaah Bhatia regarding her alleged endorsement of watching IPL matches on a subsidiary app of the Mahadev online gaming and betting platform, officials reported Thursday. Bhatia is scheduled to appear before the Maharashtra cyber unit on April 29, according to a senior police official.

In the ongoing case, Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell for purportedly promoting the viewing of IPL matches on the Fairplay betting app, where some matches were illegally streamed in 2023, officials stated based on a complaint. She has been asked to provide her statement as a witness, alongside singer Badshah and the management of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez, who have already been questioned. The Mahadev app is being scrutinized by multiple investigative bodies for suspected unlawful transactions and betting activities.

Previously, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was also called in for questioning. According to ANI, Dutt, the Vaastav star, was summoned on April 23 but did not appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell, instead requesting a later date due to being out of the country.

Tamannaah Bhatia, recognized for her roles in films like Baahubali and the Netflix anthology Lust Stories 2, is at the center of this investigation.
