The actor known for portraying Lord Krishna in ‘Mahabharata’, Nitish Bhardwaj, has lodged a complaint with the police against his former spouse, Smita Bhardwaj, an IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Nitish alleges prolonged mental harassment by Smita, as stated in his formal complaint to the Bhopal Police Commissioner, Harinarayanachari Mishra, seeking intervention.

In addition to mental anguish, Nitish claims Smita obstructs his access to their twin daughters. Consequently, an investigation has been initiated by the Bhopal Police Commissioner, with Additional DCP Shalini Dixit assigned to the case.

Nitish Bhardwaj, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Krishna in the acclaimed television series ‘Mahabharata’, gained widespread recognition for his role.

Nitish and Smita tied the knot on March 14, 2009, reportedly introduced by mutual acquaintances, and later welcomed twin daughters, now aged 11.

Following a 12-year marriage, Nitish and Smita went their separate ways in 2019, with the divorce finalized in 2022.

In a conversation with Bombay Times regarding their split, Nitish chose not to delve into the specifics, citing ongoing legal proceedings and expressed the emotional toll of divorce, likening it to living with a “severed core.”

Post-separation, Smita is said to be residing in Indore with their daughters, according to reports.
