Isha Ambani Piramal paid homage to the ancient Gujarati art of Bandhani with her attire during Radhika Merchant‘s ‘mameru’ ceremony on July 3. The pre-wedding rituals of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant commenced with this ceremony at the Ambani residence in Mumbai.
For the occasion, Isha wore an elegant orange ruffle saree designed by Arpita Mehta. The saree featured intricate bandhani work adorned with mirror, thread, and cut danna hand embroidery. It was paired perfectly with a gold blouse.
Arpita Mehta, describing the ensemble on Instagram, highlighted how it celebrates the craftsmanship of Bandhani through modern and traditional fusion, showcasing its beauty in a fresh manner.
Isha completed her look with traditional jewellery, including a maang-teeka, heavy jhumkas, and a neckpiece.
The ‘mameru’ ceremony is a significant tradition in Gujarati weddings, symbolizing blessings and well-wishes from the groom’s maternal family. It involves the presentation of ‘mameru’, a set of traditional gifts from the groom’s maternal uncles and family.
Earlier, on June 29, an intimate puja ceremony took place at the Ambanis’ Mumbai residence, Antilia.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are scheduled to marry on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
