Boney Kapoor shared an intriguing anecdote from his past relationship with Sridevi. Initially married when he met her, Kapoor recounted how his mother reacted upon sensing a connection between him and Sridevi.
During an interview, Boney disclosed that while his first wife, Mona Shourie Kapoor, knew of his feelings, his mother intuited his affection for Sridevi and took proactive steps. His mother, perceiving his emotions, requested Sridevi to tie him a Rakhi, a symbolic gesture of sibling bond.
Reflecting on his prolonged courtship with Sridevi, Boney confessed his enduring love for her, which took several years to culminate. Despite being married to Mona during this period, he pursued Sridevi persistently until their relationship blossomed.
Boney acknowledged Mona’s awareness of his feelings for Sridevi, noting her astuteness in observing his extra efforts for Sridevi. Despite feeling guilt, he maintained transparency with Mona about his emotions. Their relationship progressed, leading to their marriage in 1996.
Despite having two children, Arjun and Anshula Kapoor, from his first marriage, Boney and Sridevi expanded their family with the birth of daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
