Ranbir Kapoor enthralled the audience with a dynamic performance at the 69th Filmfare Awards in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on January 28. The Rockstar actor made a grand entrance in his Animal persona, driving a replica of Animal’s machine gun at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre.
A highlight of his act was a ‘Jamal Kudu’ hook step performed with his wife Alia Bhatt, who was in the audience. The step involves dancing while balancing a glass on the head. As they recreated this viral hook step, Ranbir sweetly planted a kiss on Alia’s cheek, creating an adorable moment that quickly went viral on social media. Fans expressed their joy with comments like “This is so cute” and shared well wishes for the couple’s happy marriage and successful careers.
Both Ranbir and Alia were honored with Black Lady statuettes for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, for their outstanding performances in Animal and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, received awards for Best Film and Best Director. Vikrant Massey won the Best Actor (Critics) award for the inspirational film, while Rani Mukerji and Shefali Shah jointly received the Best Actress (Critics) award for Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway and Three Of Us.
The star-studded event was hosted by Karan Johar, Maniesh Paul, and Ayushmann Khurrana. Other performers included Kartik Aaryan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan. The 69th Filmfare Awards will be broadcast on Zee TV on February 18 at 9 PM.
