From Waiting in the Wings to Finding His Moment:
Steps Into the Spotlight With Saiyaara
For many newcomers in the film industry, the debut film becomes the moment that defines them. But for Ahaan Panday Filmfare Cover, the journey toward Saiyaara was never about overnight success. It was about patience, self-discovery, and learning to embrace uncertainty along the way.
Featured on the April–May 2026 cover of Filmfare, Ahaan appears refreshingly grounded for someone standing at the edge of stardom. Rather than projecting confidence or perfection, he openly describes himself as “not a finished product but a work in progress.” That honesty perhaps reveals more about him than any glamorous launch ever could.

A Decade of Waiting, Learning, and Growing
Ahaan’s association with casting director Shanoo Sharma began long before cameras rolled for Saiyaara. What initially felt like a prank call eventually became the beginning of a ten-year journey.
“I was 17 when she called me, 21 when I got signed on as a YRF talent, and 26 when I started shooting. Today I’m 28… and when I look back, I just feel blessed,” he shared.
In an industry known for instant launches and fast-moving careers, Ahaan’s story stands apart. Instead of rushing into the spotlight, he spent years preparing, waiting, and quietly evolving before finding the right opportunity.
Saiyaara: More Than Just a Film
Despite the scale and expectations surrounding Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday Filmfare Cover says the experience never felt overwhelming. Instead, it felt personal and intimate.
“It never felt like we were making a film, it felt like home,” he recalled.
Working alongside co-star Aneet Padda also became an important part of that journey. As two newcomers navigating the uncertainty of a major release, they found comfort in shared vulnerability.
“As newcomers Aneet and I kept thinking there’s a good chance no one would even watch it. That’s often the reality with new faces.”
Ahaan speaks about Aneet with genuine admiration, even jokingly calling her “senior” on set because of her professionalism and awareness during shoots.
“She was just that good on the set, always hitting her marks, completely aware of her lighting. I genuinely picked up a lot from Aneet.”
Family at the Center of Everything
Behind Ahaan’s grounded personality lies the unwavering support of his family. He credits his mother as his biggest source of motivation, someone who believed in his dreams even before they became reality.
“My mom has been my biggest motivator. She’s just so happy with everything that’s happened. It’s been her dream too.”
The emotional impact of watching Saiyaara together became one of the most meaningful moments for the family.
“My mom couldn’t stop crying… She kept saying, ‘I can’t believe that’s the same boy I saw on screen.’”
He also describes his father, Chikki Panday, as someone who simply wants to see him working and growing, rather than chasing fame for its own sake.
Success Was Never the First Prayer
What makes Ahaan’s perspective particularly striking is the simplicity of his ambitions before the film’s release. While many dream of blockbuster numbers and instant recognition, his hopes were much smaller and deeply practical.
“I remember taking her (Aneet) to different places of worship, just praying, not for a hit but simply that the film would recover its cost so we could keep getting work.”
That statement reflects an awareness many actors develop only after years in the industry — that longevity matters more than hype.
Looking Ahead With Ali Abbas Zafar
With Saiyaara behind him, Ahaan is already preparing for his next chapter: an action entertainer directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Having grown up around the Yash Raj Films ecosystem, Ahaan says Ali Abbas Zafar always carried a larger-than-life presence.
“There are very few directors who can make their heroes look and feel a certain way,” he said.
The upcoming project marks a significant shift from emotional introspection to larger-scale commercial cinema, offering Ahaan a chance to explore a completely different screen persona.
Lessons From the People Around Him
Ahaan also reflected warmly on the influence of some of the biggest names he grew up around, especially Shah Rukh Khan.
“With Shah Rukh Khan, what you see is truly what you get. He is as kind and intelligent as people believe.”
More than stardom, what seems to have impacted him most is Shah Rukh’s ability to make people feel valued even away from cameras and public attention.
“He has this rare ability to make you feel seen, to make you feel like you matter.”
A Journey Still Unfolding
As Ahaan Panday Filmfare Cover stands at the beginning of what could become a promising career, what makes him interesting isn’t just the projects or the industry connections surrounding him. It is the self-awareness he carries into the journey.
There is humility in the way he talks about success, gratitude in the way he speaks about family and mentors, and honesty in admitting that he is still figuring himself out.
With Saiyaara opening one chapter and new opportunities already waiting ahead, Ahaan does not seem eager to define himself too quickly. Instead, he appears content doing something rare in the entertainment world — allowing growth to happen naturally, one experience at a time.
