Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar’s film, Operation Valentine, received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
Despite opening with a box office collection of ₹1.45 crore, the film couldn’t sustain its momentum, failing the Monday test after a weekend surge in earnings.
Directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, the action-thriller revolves around the 2019 Pulwama Terrorist Attack and the subsequent Balakot Air Strikes carried out by the Indian Air Force. Initially released on March 1, the film has now made its digital debut.
Operation Valentine marks Manushi Chhillar’s Telugu film debut but struggled to draw audiences to theaters, prompting its digital release within just 20 days. It’s now available for streaming on Prime Video in Telugu and Tamil. The Hindi version might follow suit approximately 8 weeks after its theatrical release, possibly in early April.
In the movie, Varun portrays a fighter pilot, while Chhillar takes on the role of Wing Commander Aahna Gill. Alongside them, actors like Navdeep, Paresh Pahuja, and Mir Sarwar play significant characters, depicting the resilience of Indian Air Force heroes amidst intense aerial combat.
Despite an initial box office haul of ₹1.45 crore, Operation Valentine’s earnings surged over the weekend, reaching ₹1.95 crore on Saturday and ₹1.85 crore on Sunday. However, the film experienced a significant decline of 59.46 percent on Monday. In its first week, the film grossed ₹7.96 crore domestically.
