It took a lot more than just knowledge, as the students of S.E.S Gurukul, Pune put on an exemplary display of teamwork, strategy, and steely nerves to book their place in the semi-finals of HistoryTV18 CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2023 by coming out on top in the regional round that took place at Delhi Public School, Navi Mumbai.
Launched in 2001 by CBSE, the Heritage Quiz today is the benchmark for pan-India inter-school quizzes and attracts the brightest and the sharpest young minds from various prestigious CBSE schools. Its success can be gauged by the fact that more than 2300 schools across the country registered for the quiz. This year, the quiz celebrates the theme ‘India: The Mother of Democracy,’ in honour of India’s esteemed role as the President of the G20. The inter-school quiz, designed to engage and educate students nationwide, aims to foster a deeper appreciation and awareness of India’s pivotal democratic journey, its remarkable history, and the diverse tapestry of its people, culture, and achievements.
The preliminary elimination rounds followed by regional rounds, where 87 students from 29 schools faced the challenging questions from quizmaster Bhushan Patel.
Representing S.E.S. Gurukul, Pune the winning team of Adwait Deshpande, Tanvi Deshpande, and Arjunsinh Thakur put on a display of harmony and synergy that kept them on the front foot right from the beginning. Competing against teams from 29 prestigious schools for a spot in the semi-finals, the team from S.E.S. Gurukul, Pune held its nerves under pressure to emerge victorious.
S.E.S. Gurukul, Pune will now be competing with 4 other schools in their semi-final round in their quest to be grab a spot in the National Finale of the quiz competition.
