After twelve years of marriage, Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani have announced their separation on February 7. The couple, who are parents to two daughters, Radhya and Miraya, shared the news through a joint statement.
While the reason for their split remains a subject of speculation among fans, Esha had previously mentioned in her book ‘Amma Mia: Stories, Advice and Recipes from One Mother to Another’ that Bharat had expressed feeling “neglected” after the birth of their second child. In her book, Esha recounted how she realized her oversight in attending to Bharat’s needs amidst her busy schedule of managing their children, writing her book, and handling production meetings.
Esha acknowledged the importance of nurturing their relationship and took steps to reignite the romance by making time for date nights and outings with Bharat. The couple tied the knot in 2012 but have now decided to part ways due to irreconcilable differences.
In their joint statement, issued on February 7, Esha and Bharat emphasized their commitment to prioritize the well-being of their children amid their separation. They requested privacy during this transition period.
Esha Deol is the daughter of Bollywood veterans Dharmendra and Hema Malini.
