Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder in the early hours of January 16 at his Bandra residence, which he shares with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their two children. The assailant stabbed him multiple times before being subdued.
In an interview with *Delhi Times*, Saif recounted the terrifying incident. He explained that Kareena had been out for dinner while he stayed home due to work commitments. After she returned, they spoke briefly and went to bed. Later, their house help ran in, alerting them that an armed intruder had entered their son Jeh’s room, demanding money.
Saif described how he confronted the intruder, attempting to restrain him, but was stabbed in the back, wrist, and neck during the struggle. Meanwhile, Kareena quickly took their children to safety. She urged Saif to leave for the hospital immediately, fearing the attacker might not be alone. She desperately tried to find transport, shouting for a cab or rickshaw. Saif, feeling the pain from his injuries, reassured her that he was fine, and she decided to take their children to her sister Karisma Kapoor’s house.
Saif reached Lilavati Hospital at 3 AM and was admitted for five days. On January 18, he underwent a five-hour surgery to remove a piece of the knife from his body and was later shifted to the ICU. He was discharged on January 21.
Making his first public appearance after the attack, Saif attended a Netflix event to promote his upcoming film, *Jewel Thief*.
