Tina Ahuja recently revealed that her father, legendary actor Govinda, was extremely focused on her figure and weight when she was a teenager.

Tina explained how her father would often remark on even the smallest changes in her body, encouraging her to stay fit and look healthy. She recalled, “Since my teens, my father was very particular about my figure. If he noticed any weight gain, he’d say, ‘Something’s showing… your belly’s sticking out, reduce it,'” in an interview with Hauterrfly.

Tina remembered a trip during which she gained weight. “I went to Switzerland for a shoot with him, and I developed a liking for the milk there. While he was filming, I kept drinking milk and hot chocolate. By the time we traveled from Switzerland to London, my pants didn’t fit. He told me, ‘A girl should look beautiful, and her weight should be just right.'”

Tina shared how she would talk to her father about her weight struggles, saying, “Papa, I don’t know what’s happening, I’ve gained so much weight I can’t even walk properly.” She added that her father advised her to take it one step at a time. “I’m getting there slowly, but I love my body. It’s not that I don’t eat—I eat everything. I feel great when I fit into nice clothes,” Tina said.

Although Tina acknowledges that her father’s comments helped her remain mindful of her health, it also brings up the crucial issue of balancing motivation with the potential harm that such remarks might cause.
