The previous year witnessed remarkable success in Bollywood with several films surpassing box office expectations. Blockbusters like “Pathaan”, “Gadar 2”, “Jawan”, and “Animal” featuring A-list stars left a significant mark on the ticket counters.
Although this year hasn’t matched the fervor of the previous one, it has seen its fair share of triumphs. A recent example is “Crew,” which has become the fifth film of 2024 to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark worldwide.
Released on March 29, the film, starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon in leading roles, commenced on a positive note despite an all-female cast. As of April 6, it has grossed Rs. 104.13 crores worldwide, with Rs. 67.49 crores from India and Rs. 33.35 crores from overseas.
The highest-grossing film worldwide this year is Siddharth Anand’s “Fighter,” featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, with a total of Rs. 337.2 crores. Following closely is “Shaitaan,” starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, and Janki Bodiwala, earning Rs. 204.29 crores. “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” “Article 370,” and “Crew” occupy the next three spots with Rs. 133.64 crores, Rs. 110.03 crores, and Rs. 104.13 crores gross respectively.
It’s worth noting that “Crew” and “Shaitaan” are still running in theaters.
