Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are one of Bollywood’s most beloved couples. After dating for nearly seven years, they got married in June of this year.
In a recent interview, Zaheer humorously admitted that he often forgets they are married and still hesitates to hold Sonakshi’s hand in public.
During their candid conversation with ETimes, the couple discussed their life after marriage. Zaheer mentioned, “I still forget I’m married to Sonakshi. When we’re out, I hesitate to hold her hand until I remember, ‘Oh, we’re married now,’” he laughed. Sonakshi echoed his sentiments, saying it feels like nothing has changed since they began dating seven years ago.
The couple also shared how they enjoy competing to impress each other. Zaheer explained that they constantly strive to outdo one another, leading to a playful rivalry over who loves the other more.
Sonakshi added that Zaheer loves to surprise her, to which he jokingly noted that she pretends to be unaware of the surprises, despite them genuinely catching her off guard.
The couple tied the knot on June 23 in a simple registered ceremony, followed by a lavish reception attended by many Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Kajol, and Tabu.
On the professional front, Sonakshi recently appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama *Heeramandi*. She is also set to reunite with Zaheer for the upcoming project *Tu Hai Meri Kiran*, having previously collaborated on the 2022 film *Double XL* and a music video called *Blockbuster*.
