Salman Khan’s romantic life has often been under media scrutiny and surrounded by controversies. Recently, Somy Ali made headlines by stating that Sangeeta Bijlani, who was engaged to Salman in 1994, ended her engagement because of her.
Somy also mentioned that she apologized to Sangeeta for her involvement. The former actress and ex-girlfriend of Salman Khan has been known for her candid comments about the Bollywood star on social media.
Somy and Salman reportedly dated during the 1990s, with their relationship lasting eight years. They worked together on the 1992 film *Buland*, which ultimately never saw a theatrical release.
Reflecting on her apology to Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy recounted an incident where Sangeeta confronted Salman while they were in her room. Sangeeta demanded that he choose between her and Somy. Salman returned to Somy’s room after a brief moment to announce that he had broken up with Sangeeta and wanted to be with her. Despite this, Somy thought he would marry Sangeeta since wedding invitations had already been printed.
Years later, Somy expressed her regret to Sangeeta for disrupting her wedding plans. She noted that there were no hard feelings between them, stating she was “deeply sorry.”
Somy also shared Sangeeta’s response to her apology, where Sangeeta reportedly said, “I don’t care, I am happily married to Azhar.” However, shortly after, she filed for divorce from him.
Somy Ali initially had a major crush on Salman Khan and aimed to marry him, leading her to pursue a career in Bollywood. However, she has alleged that Salman “abused her” under the guise of love and care. In various interviews and social media posts, Ali has referred to him as a “women beater” and “sadistic.”
Somy is also recognized for her 1997 film, *Chupp*.
