Dating in today’s world is undeniably challenging, and going out on dates can be even tougher. Navigating the crowd to find a man you like is like a game, and if he turns out to be a jerk, it adds to the frustration.
Recently, Shruti Haasan shared her experiences with dating and the expectations from men regarding who should pay for dinner dates.
In a conversation with Kusha Kapila on “Tinder Swipe Ride,” Shruti discussed how some men expected her to cover the costs because of her financial independence. While she values women’s financial empowerment, she noted that this independence often leads men to assume she should pay, given her earnings.
Shruti explained that paying for dates is part of her “love language,” and she has learned to navigate this situation. She stated, “I’ll pay the bill because that’s just who I am.” However, she confronted a guy after several outings, reminding him that he had never paid, to which he replied, “But I thought you love it, and you have so much money.”
During the discussion, Shruti also described her ideal partner as someone with a good sense of humor who enjoys having fun. She emphasized that both men and women should be financially mindful in relationships and only choose affordable date location.
For context, Shruti Haasan was previously in a relationship with artist Santanu Hazarika, but they have since parted ways.
