Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor, was preparing to make her debut in Bollywood with the Karan Johar-produced film *Bedhadak*. Although the film was announced in 2022, it has since been put on hold for reasons known only to its creators.
This development left Shanaya deeply affected. In the latest season of *Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives*, Maheep Kapoor spoke about the challenges she faced over the past year, which also strained her friendship with Seema Sajdeh.
In a recent episode, Karan facilitated a meeting between Seema and Maheep to help them resolve their differences. During the discussion, Maheep expressed, “I was dealing with my own turmoil. I had been vulnerable with my elderly parents, and Shanaya had COVID-19. We were all struggling. The trauma I experienced after Rekha, my house help, passed away and the doctors advising that my mother needed hospitalization was immense.”
She continued, “Shanaya’s film didn’t begin, and she was traumatized. You had to step in.” Maheep then addressed Seema, saying, “I wasn’t there for her, but she needed to understand that.” Seema responded, “I didn’t need her support at that time. I wanted to be there for her, but she wouldn’t let me, and that’s my issue with her.”
In another episode, Maheep took Khushi Kapoor, Shanaya, and her son Jahaan out for dinner in Mumbai. During the outing, they played a game where everyone shared one thing they were thankful for and one thing they anticipated. When it was Shanaya’s turn, she said, “I’m grateful for Pablo (her pet dog) and I look forward to starting a shoot again.”
It appears that Shanaya is currently involved in a project. In a different episode, she missed Gauri Khan’s party because, as Maheep explained, “She had to shoot all day and was extremely tired.”
*Bedhadak* was intended to star Shanaya alongside Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya, with Shashank Khaitaan as the director. Despite an official announcement and promotional materials released over two years ago, the film did not progress. Shanaya will now make her acting debut in a pan-Indian Telugu-Malayalam film titled *Vrushabha*, featuring Mohanlal in the lead role.
