Two months after welcoming their first child, Shaikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s ruler, publicly announced her divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum via Instagram, as reported by various publications.
In a post addressed to her husband, the Dubai princess declared, “Dear Husband, as you are engaged with other companions, I am hereby declaring our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
The couple has unfollowed each other on Instagram and removed all photos of each other from their profiles, sparking widespread reactions on social media.
According to an NDTV report, speculation arose that the couple had blocked each other, while others questioned whether Shaikha Mahra’s Instagram account had been hacked.
One Instagram user commented, “I find it empowering when a woman recognizes her worth and stands her ground confidently.” Others praised the princess, calling her a “Brave Queen” and “a powerful woman.”
Shaikha Mahra married last May and gave birth to their first daughter twelve months later.
Recently, the princess posted a cryptic photo on Instagram showing her cuddling with her baby, captioned “Just the two of us,” leading to speculation that it hinted at the impending divorce.
Shaikha Mahra, daughter of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, holds a degree in International Relations from a UK university. She also has a college degree from the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Administration and actively supports women’s empowerment and local designers in the UAE.
