Samantha Ruth Prabhu has garnered immense popularity, becoming a household name across India with a devoted fanbase nationwide.
Her success as an actress has made her a reliable star, with her stardom reaching new heights in recent years. However, a few months ago, Samantha took a hiatus from her career due to being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, for which she underwent treatment. Reports suggested she took time off to prioritize her health. Now, after a seven-month break, she has returned to work.
Announcing her comeback on social media, Samantha shared that she is wrapping up her break and getting back to work. During her hiatus, she engaged in a health podcast with a friend, expressing surprise at this unexpected venture but hoping it will benefit her fans. She wrote, “I am going back to work, finally. But apart from that, in the meantime, I was completely jobless. But, I am doing something fun with a friend. It’s a health podcast.”
Regarding her upcoming projects, Samantha reportedly finished shooting for Citadel before her break. The series, also featuring Varun Dhawan, is directed by Raj & DK and forms part of the Hindi chapter of the Citadel franchise. The release date for this Amazon Prime Video series is yet to be announced.
In her previous work, Samantha was last seen alongside Vijay Deverakonda in the romantic drama Kushi, available on Netflix. The film received a mixed response but performed decently at the box office.
