**Karan Johar Responds to Nepotism Claims Following Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ Involvement**

Karan Johar appeared to lose his temper over accusations that he facilitated Alia Bhatt’s involvement in *Jigra*. Earlier this month, a viral interview clip featured director Vasan Bala, who claimed Karan forwarded his unfinished script to Alia for her review.

Vasan expressed his frustration that Karan shared the incomplete script, stating that if he had known it would go to her, he would have properly formatted and edited it.

However, many social media users misinterpreted Vasan’s comments, leading to criticism of Karan for ‘promoting nepotism.’ In response, Karan tried to quell the discussion by posting on Instagram, featuring a quote by I’m Salmiah that read, “We have to be strong to ensure our life is stable enough to shut some negative people’s mouths.”

In his post, he remarked, “Twitter became X and became my ex a while ago… I broke up with the nauseous noise and muted the unwarranted angst… but social media is like the Loch Ness monster; it gets to you even when you can’t see it. I was flooded with Vasan Bala’s interview, which he answered with pure innocence and so much love.”

Karan continued, “The gross misinterpretation of his comment about me sending the script to Alia without his grammar checks initially made me laugh at its absurdity, but it’s now genuinely annoying me. Vasan remains one of my most talented and wonderful collaborators, and if you watch his interview and hear his tone, you will understand! BUT NO… much ado about nothing is everywhere.”

He concluded his post by urging everyone to read complete interviews before jumping to conclusions, stating, “I fold my hands and tell everyone please hear and read entire interviews before making clickbait assumptions. ❤️! Loads of love to all of you.”

**What Vasan Bala Actually Said About Alia Bhatt and ‘Jigra’**

In his conversation with Tried and Refused Productions, Vasan Bala shared, “I had written a very rough email, just stream of consciousness thoughts… I sent it to Karan, and 6-7 hours later, he called to say he had already sent it to Alia, which I was really unhappy about.”

He added, “I thought I would have at least done some spell check, grammar check, and written a nicer hero entry. I asked Karan, ‘Why did you do this?’ He said, ‘No, no, this is how it works.’ Then he mentioned we would meet in a couple of days.” Alia later indicated that she liked the film from the first half itself.

**Vasan Bala Clarifies His Comments**

On X, Vasan reposted a clip from his interview, stating, “Karan knew better, and I can’t thank him enough for trusting his instincts for the rest of my life. It’s the most magnanimous gesture anyone can do to help someone make a film… Trust!”
