Kangana Ranaut recently spoke about how Sadhguru has impacted her life, her film career, and how an “internal crisis” led her to discover him. In an interview with *The New Indian*, she shared her experience of achieving success in the film industry and how, in 2016-17, she began to lose faith in people.
Kangana explained that in 2014-15, when her career was at its peak and job offers flooded in, she felt disillusioned by her success. Despite finally achieving her long-awaited success, it didn’t feel as fulfilling as she had hoped. She realized that many people who had wanted to work with her weren’t people she actually wanted to work with. Over time, she had mentally outgrown both the people around her and the industry itself, finding their ugly sides after seeing them for years.
When asked if her issues with the Roshan family played a role in her connection with Sadhguru, Kangana denied it, stating, “Let me come to it.” She explained that her disillusionment wasn’t just with the industry, but also with personal relationships. She shared that by 2016-17, she was so disheartened by people she had invested in as friends or lovers that she had lost all faith in humanity.
Kangana revealed that during this “internal crisis,” she came across Sadhguru’s book and started listening to his speeches daily before starting her day. She mentioned that she even moved to Himachal Pradesh because she no longer wanted to be in Mumbai.
The interview also touched on the Hrithik Roshan controversy, which began in 2016 when Hrithik filed a case against Kangana regarding a series of emails exchanged between them. Hrithik claimed someone had been impersonating him in these emails, but Kangana stated that Hrithik had given her the email ID, and they had communicated through it until 2014. The dispute escalated when Hrithik sent Kangana a legal notice after she referred to him as a “silly ex.” He denied any romantic relationship with her, despite their collaboration on *Kites* (2010) and *Krrish 3* (2013). Hrithik also alleged that Kangana had been sending him numerous absurd emails.
