Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee frequently share aspects of their personal lives with their followers on social media. Unfortunately, they often encounter negative comments, especially targeting their children, Lianna and Divisha. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Gurmeet discussed how being a public figure exposes them to such trolling. He explained:

“As actors and public figures, our lives are not solely private. We share our lives publicly and seek the affection of our audience. Choosing this profession means accepting both its rewards and its drawbacks, including the negativity that comes with public scrutiny.”

Gurmeet expressed that he hadn’t anticipated his children, Lianna and Divisha, would face backlash due to his fame. Nevertheless, he has learned to manage the situation. He noted that while a small portion of online comments are negative, he prefers to concentrate on the positive feedback. He said:

“We have learned to manage the negativity. About 80-85 percent of our social media interactions are positive, with only about 5 percent containing trolling. We try to overlook the negativity and concentrate on the positive comments and the love we receive.”

In the interview, Gurmeet also revealed that he frequently faces trolling himself but has learned to ignore it and focus on supportive comments. He explained that he avoids reacting to negative comments and instead concentrates on the positive feedback and constructive criticism related to his work. He stated:

“I don’t respond to trolls. When I encounter intentional negativity, I simply ignore it. I prefer to focus on positive comments and constructive feedback regarding my work. Ignoring trolls is my practice.”

Debina Bonnerjee on dealing with criticism during her IVF journey

Debina Bonnerjee, who suffered from endometriosis, underwent multiple fertility treatments, including four IUIs and five IVF cycles, before conceiving Lianna. Later, she also became pregnant with Divisha. On World IVF Day last year, Debina addressed the trolls who criticized her IVF journey, encouraging women to embrace the process with confidence, as it can lead to the rewarding experience of motherhood..
