AR Rahman is widely regarded as one of India’s most esteemed singers and composers. Throughout his illustrious career, he has produced numerous chart-topping songs that have captivated audiences.
Recently, the composer made headlines when his estranged wife, Saira Banu, revealed their separation. This was followed by rumors suggesting that AR Rahman was planning to take a year-long break from music, which sparked further public curiosity.
However, AR Rahman’s daughter, Khatija Rahman, swiftly debunked these rumors, expressing her frustration with the unfounded reports. She questioned the motives behind spreading such false information and firmly asserted that they were baseless. Khatija’s response emphasized AR Rahman’s continued commitment to his music, reassuring fans that he remains focused on his creative pursuits despite the distractions of misinformation.
In the midst of these personal developments, AR Rahman made headlines once again, this time for his exceptional work in music. He won the Best Background Music award at the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) for his score in the Malayalam film The Goat Life.
In a video message, AR Rahman expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s an incredible honor to receive this award for the best score for the foreign language film The Goat Life. I’m deeply grateful to the Hollywood Music and Media Awards for recognizing this score.”
He continued, “I share this achievement with my wonderful team of musicians, technicians, director Blessy, and everyone who believed in our vision. To my fans and supporters worldwide, thank you for your unwavering love and inspiration.”
AR Rahman was also nominated in the Song Feature Film category for his track Periyone, performed by Jithin Raj. However, he lost out to musician H.E.R., who won for The Journey from The Six Triple Eight.
