Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant recently concluded their extravagant wedding celebrations in Mumbai, featuring prominent figures from business, politics, sports, and entertainment.
Alongside global luminaries, the Ambanis welcomed influencers and social media personalities who shared insights into the event. Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Akaash Singh discussed their experiences at the wedding, highlighting the lavish food offerings from top restaurants serving regional cuisines.
The venue, Jio World Centre in Mumbai, housed various shops where guests received complimentary items like Versace sunglasses and Benarasi sarees. Allahbadia mentioned, “Some shops were giving away designer sunglasses, while others charged for jewelry like diamond necklaces.”
The wedding’s theme was Indian Regal Glam, featuring elaborate sets and diverse culinary experiences. Allahbadia described the vast array of food stalls, including dessert counters spanning 300 meters and specialty cuisines from renowned restaurants like Dum Pukht.
The festivities included unique attractions such as a specially directed 10-minute film by Atlee, narrated by Amitabh Bachchan, and a ‘baraat’ procession accompanied by live performances from iconic singers at various stations along the pathway.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding on July 12 marked the culmination of months of global pre-wedding celebrations.
Allahbadia added, “There were shops built into the wedding set. There was a shop for Benarasi saris, but (the venue) was so big in size, it took to even go to each (shop). There was no way you could humanly experience all of the wedding, there was that much to do.” Sharing details about the food arrangements, he said, “It was on the floor above the wedding area. There was a floor full of food and places to eat. You enter and you see a long line, probably 300 metres, of just dessert counters. There was a pan shop, and it was run by an actual Benarasi pan shop owner. It’s like they got entire restaurants and placed them within the wedding. And that’s also what went on in the buffet upstairs.”
“There was every cuisine that you could think of, but when it comes to Indian food, it was food from Dum Pukht, which is considered one of the best in the world. There was a Japanese stall, a French stall, an Asian stall, and Italian stall. Any cuisine that you can think of, but it was the best restaurant serving that cuisine, set up within that buffet.”
Akaash added, “There was tiramisu with caviar, fresh waffles with edible petals
