Alia Bhatt and Samantha Ruth Prabhu attended the pre-release event for Alia’s upcoming film, “Jigra,” in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Although they haven’t appeared in a film together, their close friendship was highlighted at the event, which also saw other notable attendees like director Trivikram and actor Rana Daggubati, all supporting the action thriller directed by Vasan Bala.

During her speech to the large audience, Alia shared her admiration for Samantha, calling her a role model. Alia’s emotional tribute deeply affected Samantha, who was visibly moved. Alia praised Samantha’s talent and strength, stating, “Sam, my dearest Samantha… You are a hero, both on and off screen. Your resilience is inspiring.” She emphasized the challenges women face in the industry, recognizing Samantha’s achievements.

Alia recounted that when she invited Samantha to the event, she quickly accepted, highlighting Samantha’s character. Alia expressed her gratitude for having such a prominent figure supporting her film, urging director Trivikram to consider making a film with both of them, countering the notion of competition among actresses.

“Jigra,” produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Soumen Mishra through Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, features Vedang Raina, Aditya Nanda, and Sobhita Dhulipala in significant roles. The film is set to release this Friday.
