The ongoing conflict between Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen has lasted longer than their brief marriage. Charu has been open about her struggles since the split, particularly in navigating single parenthood and raising their daughter Ziana independently.
Recently, Charu made the decision to leave Mumbai and return to her hometown, Bikaner, to be closer to her family and focus on launching her clothing business while also dedicating more time to her daughter. In an interview with *HT City*, she cited Mumbai’s high cost of living and her discomfort with leaving Ziana in the care of a nanny during work hours as her reasons for the move. As for Rajeev, she said simply, “He can always come visit his daughter in Bikaner. I texted him about my plans before I left.”
Rajeev, in his response to *HT City*, accused Charu of deliberately keeping him away from Ziana. He said, “Charu has mastered the art of keeping my daughter away from me. I feel bad for Ziana because she’s the one missing out.” He claimed that when he contacted Charu while in Delhi to ask about visiting Bikaner, she didn’t respond. “Now she’s telling everyone I’m welcome to visit her — but I’ve reached out and only received silence. What else can I do?” he added.
However, many online commenters weren’t sympathetic to Rajeev’s claims. Social media users criticized him for playing the victim, expressing strong support for Charu. Comments included, “Charu is going through a lot — stay strong,” “If you were a good father, your daughter wouldn’t have to grow up without you,” and “Stop it, Rajeev. Let her live in peace.” Others praised Charu’s parenting, saying, “She’s giving Ziana a wonderful upbringing,” and “She’s managed everything alone for a long time now.” Many urged Rajeev to stop making excuses and take real steps if he truly wants to be present in his daughter’s life.
