Jennifer Lopez might have experienced a difficult summer, but she’s ready to embrace joy once more. Despite a cancelled tour, the end of her marriage to Ben Affleck, and intense online backlash, JLo’s resilience keeps her strong.

Recently, Lopez opened up about how her life “exploded” after her divorce and the personal growth that ensued. Although she filed for divorce from Affleck in August, they had been living separately since April.

In an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, Lopez shared her journey of self-discovery, navigating the tough entertainment industry, and rebuilding herself after her marriage ended.

She emphasized the importance of self-fulfillment, stating, “You need to be whole to seek something complete. I thought I understood that, but this summer made me realize I needed time alone.” Without naming Affleck, she noted, “Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I must find happiness within myself.”

Lopez discussed the challenges of her marriage’s end, expressing that while it wasn’t as she envisioned, it ultimately served her well. She described the moment her divorce began as when her “whole f—ing world exploded.”

Despite the emotional challenges of a breakup, she holds no regrets: “Not for one second. It nearly broke me, but now I see it was exactly what I needed.”

**JLo Prioritizes Herself**

Lopez is now focused on self-care and has chosen to take a break from dating. During her interview, she made it clear she’s not searching for a new partner, saying, “There’s no new bar because I’m not looking for anyone. I’m focused on flying solo.”

**JLo Responds to Social Media Criticism**

Going through a divorce is tough, and doing so publicly can be even harder. Knowing the scrutiny she’d face due to her high-profile relationship with Affleck, JLo felt somewhat prepared.

She remarked, “I know that what’s written about me doesn’t define who I am. I learned that a long time ago,” adding, “Social media doesn’t affect me as much because I know my true self—I’m a good person, a good mom, and my loved ones know who I really am.”

**Jennifer Lopez on Her Cancelled Tour**

In May, amidst speculation about her separation, JLo cancelled her This Is Me… Live tour to focus on her family and personal needs. Despite facing backlash, she emphasized the importance of this decision.

“I can’t wait to return to the stage. My fans are incredibly understanding. I was heartbroken to let anyone down, but I needed that time for my kids and myself,” she told Glaser.

She added, “I’m glad I took that time. It was incredibly tough but also the best because it allowed me to work on myself.”

**A Brief History of Bennifer**

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck first crossed paths while filming Gigli in 2002. At that time, Lopez was still married to her second husband, Cris Judd. They got engaged in November 2022, shortly before her divorce from Judd was finalized, but their romance faced challenges, leading to a cancelled wedding and breakup amid media frenzy.

They rekindled their relationship in 2021 and married in Las Vegas in 2022. However, just a year later, reports of marital issues emerged, with Affleck moving out. On August 20, Lopez filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
