Tamannaah Bhatia recently captivated audiences with her striking performance in the new track “Aaj Ki Raat” from *Stree 2*. Although fans were thrilled, there’s an interesting detail that might make you admire her even more—she nearly declined the song.
Indeed, Tamannaah revealed that she was hesitant about taking on the song for *Stree 2*, especially after the success of “Kaavaalaa”. She shared her concerns about following up such a hit and the pressure she felt.
In a recent interview, Tamannaah discussed her reservations about the song, particularly after the overwhelming success of “Kaavaalaa”. She admitted to Grazia India that the idea of matching or surpassing her previous success was daunting. However, director Amar Kaushik convinced her of the song’s importance to the film’s narrative, leading her to accept the challenge. She told Grazia, “Given Kaavaalaa’s success, doing the song for *Stree 2* felt very risky. I wondered if I could top my previous work.” While “Aaj Ki Raat” is a current favorite, it’s worth noting that Tamannaah’s performance in “Kaavaalaa” with Rajinikanth was a global hit last year.
Currently, Tamannaah is choosing special appearances and cameos over lead roles, a strategy she’s enthusiastically embracing. She’s consciously avoiding typecasting and has begun selecting unexpected roles, focusing on making a lasting impact rather than just screen time.
Regarding *Stree 2*, it is already performing well at the box office with strong performances from Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. This film is the fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe and follows the success of the 2018 hit *Stree*.
On her work front, Tamannaah’s recent film *Vedaa* faced competition from *Stree 2* and Akshay Kumar’s *Khel Khel Mein*. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, *Vedaa* also featured John Abraham and Sharvari. Next, Tamannaah will appear in the Telugu supernatural thriller *Odela 2* and the web series *Daring Partners*.
