According to a RadarOnline report, Angelina Jolie has accused Brad Pitt of trying to silence her regarding alleged abuse during their marriage by using an $8.5 million nondisclosure agreement (NDA) connected to the Château Miraval winery.

The couple’s divorce occurred just two years after their wedding at the Miraval estate.

Brad Pitt has sued Jolie, claiming she breached an “implied contract” by selling her share of the winery, but Jolie denies the existence of such a contract. This dispute has led to numerous legal actions, with both sides seeking court orders to reveal relevant information.

Jolie has recently asked the judge to compel Pitt to disclose details about his “voluntary therapy” following the well-known “flight incident” that reportedly led to their breakup, as well as information about his alleged “overuse or abuse of alcohol.”

Pitt, however, has argued that these “private, third-party communications” are unrelated to the issues at hand regarding the winery.

Jolie’s legal team has countered that Pitt is using the NDA to suppress her claims of abuse while attempting to control and financially burden her.

In their latest filing, Jolie’s lawyers argued that Pitt’s claims are relevant to the case. They claimed, “Jolie’s actions were not malicious but a response to Pitt’s refusal to buy her stake without the expanded NDA, which included an $8.5 million penalty designed to silence her about his abusive behavior and cover-up.”

Earlier, Pitt had requested that Jolie reveal all NDAs she had signed since their marriage in 2014. Jolie’s team opposed this request, arguing it would be time-consuming and could expose sensitive information about others. Subsequently, a Los Angeles judge ordered Jolie to produce all relevant non-privileged documents.

Pitt’s lawsuit, filed in February 2022, alleged that Jolie was bound by an agreement to either keep their interests in Miraval together or sell them only with mutual consent. He claimed she was “unjustly enriched” by unlawfully selling her share.

Pitt has consistently stated that they bought Miraval with the intent of passing it down to their children, and he invested significant effort into making it successful. Jolie notified him in 2021 of her decision to withdraw from the project.
