NaatuNaatu from RRR has won the Academy Award for BestOriginalSong at Oscars95 ! With this win, RRR creates history by becoming the first Indian movie to bag an Oscar award!
In order to make the event more special, it was Indian Diva Deepika Padukone, who introduced the duo to the stage prior to the performance. Also, Lauren Gottlieb danced to the song adding more colors touch to the moment.
The Bollywood Diva Priyanka Chopra took her Instagram Stories and cheered for Naatu Naatu virtually. The actor watched it from her home on TV and shared a clip. She wrote, “Wohooo!!! Amazing! #rrr #standingovation (clapping hands emoji). @theacademy (pleading face, red heart, national flag folding hands emojis).” She also tagged the RRR team on her social media platforms.
Naatu Naatu was originally composed by MM Keeravani for RRR and the Telugu version was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Lyrics were penned by Chandrabose.
The song was released as “Nacho Nacho” in Hindi, “Nattu Kuthu” in Tamil and “Halli Natu” in Kannada.
This mesmerizing song also won an award in the category of Best Original Song at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.
